Common Ground's Covenant and Only Kindness Statements

Common Ground Homeschooling Covenant:

“Common Ground Homeschoolers are a diverse group of homeschooling families dedicated to preserving a peaceful and accepting community in which to respectfully support and foster lifelong learning and friendship.”

ONLY KINDNESS Policy:

We believe in doing no harm and respecting others. We believe that all forms of interaction can be done nicely and in a respectful way regardless of the circumstances.

Allergy Policy

CGH complies with a ban on specific allergens that are life-threatening to our members.   

The following allergens are forbidden from CGH group get-togethers, including cooperative classes:  

  • Peanuts 
  • Latex – including, but not limited to, balloons, latex-coated rubber balls, latex gloves 

CGH complies with a labeling requirement on specific allergens so that those with non-life-threatening allergies may avoid them. 

The following allergens must be labeled at CGH group get-togethers, including cooperative classes:  

  • Gluten 
  • Dairy 
  • Wheat 
  • Egg
  • Soy 
  • Sesame 
  • Almond 
  • Hazelnut 
  • Chestnut 
  • Avocado 
  • Banana 
  • Shrimp 

Additionally, for the sake of families dealing with allergies and asthma, we ask that members be proactive and refrain from using products associated with environmental sensitivities. These products can include, but are not limited to:  

  • cigarette smoke (though co-op is a non-smoking environment, please also take care to wear clothing that has not been exposed to cigarette smoke) 
  • undiluted and fragrant essential oils or perfumes 
  • strongly scented hair and body products 
  • scented cleaning products or air fresheners 

Who can join? 

The Common Ground Homeschoolers website is currently for our school aged members, 5-18. Click here to fill out our interest form

How much does it cost to join?

As of our 2025 Membership Renewal period it now costs $50 to join. Our CGH Tots and CGH Parents and Alumni group are currently free.

What ages fo children are included? 

We have a space for everyone. For children 5 and under you can join CGH Tots, 5 and up can join the main Common Ground Homeschoolers group.

What types of activities do you offer? Can I drop my child off? 

Our social side host many activites - park days, meet ups, field trips, parties, parent night out, book clubs, esports

We also have a Co-op hosted on Wednesdays in North East Dallas.

There are some social activities that we do allow teens to be dropped off.  However, Common Ground Homeschoolers is not a drop off activity for your child. We require an adult to stay with their child. 

How do I join?

Fill out the interest form  Our New Member Liaison will contact you with an info email and the date of our next meet and greet. An evite will be sent out, please rsvp so we know if you will attend or not. After the meet and greet you will recieve an email detailing the instructions for joining Common Ground Homeschoolers. At that time you will receive an email requesting you complete a background check (current cost $40) and an invoice for joining CGH (current cost $50, after January it is prorated). Once your background check and membership fee are received your membership to Commongrounddallas.com and our facebook group will be approved.

For CGH Tots and CGH Parents and Alumni you simply need to request membership to the facebook groups.
